“Christian Science is not an exception to the general rule, that there is no excellence without labor in a direct line. One cannot scatter his fire, and at the same time hit the mark.” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures p. 457:19–22)
Dear Friends,
It is a joy to share with you that two trainees have successfully completed the first half of Le Verger’s Level III training course. We are grateful to Sharon House for providing gracious accommodation for all to gather together. The classroom and skills portion were thorough with days beginning at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 5:30 pm. The venue allowed for Le Verger Certified Mentors Barb Waite and Ruth Matthews to each participate for 3 days of the two weeks. Patty Nuernberg, the Instructor, led this holy work and there were times of quiet, deep discussion as well as gales of laughter!
These two individuals are willing and eager to begin serving our Canadian Field as Private Duty Christian Science nurses. We hope you will feel free to call on them and we know that the branch Churches will fully support their growing private duty ministry.
All trainees will continue to work with their Instructor and/or a Journal-listed Mentor until training is complete and they are ready to advertise and represent the office in the Christian Science Journal themselves. There are 4 Journal-listed, certified Le Verger Mentors in Canada. Two in Ontario — Ruth Matthews and Barb Waite — and two in British Columbia — Marcia ten Holder and Shannon Nordling. However, a trainee may consult with any Journal-listed Christian Science nurse they choose.
CCSNA is very grateful for this unfolding and will continue to listen and move forward as we “hear”! We are also thankful to the branch Churches who have supported us; to Sharon House for making the venue available and ready; to Concord Lodge for accepting donations on our behalf; and to Wayside House for their recognition of Mentoring and application for possible remuneration for the Christian Science Nurse/Mentor work. A united effort!
We also have another private duty trainee who is about to complete Le Verger training, Level IV, with a Camp Bow Isle experience in July. All three are now ready to receive calls from the Field. We are happy to introduce them to you.

Additionally, you may call 1-888-234-8160 to speak with a Journal-listed Christian Science Nurse, 24/7.
As a sweet 6 year old Sunday School student once remarked to her teacher, “You don’t just call a Christian Science nurse because you have a boo-boo, you call them because they’re calm!” Amen to the child-like insight!
Summer is upon us. As a gift of thanks from CCSNA to our Field for your prayerful support, we are offering a series of talks (paid for by CCSNA) by Kristy Christian of Biblos Foundation on The Seven Letters to the Churches in Revelation. We know you will enjoy this thought-provoking audio talk. It will be available from July 1-31st on our website, csncanada.ca. You will need to contact ccsninformation@gmail to obtain a passcode to access the talk.
“ He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches“ (Rev. 2:7)
Happy listening!
