INDIVIDUAL DONATIONS
An individual’s donation to the CCSNA is not eligible for a tax receipt. The CCSNA is not a registered charity and therefore cannot issue a tax receipt.
“SISTER CHARITY” DONATIONS
“Sister” organizations are deemed to be those with like purpose – i.e., Christian Science. They would include Christian Science branch churches or any other Christian Science charitable organization. “Sister” organizations may donate any amount and are not required to have tax receipts; an acknowledgement letter is sufficient for their records.
HOW ARE CCSNA DONATIONS USED?
In the section on Guardianship of Church Funds in the Manual of the Mother Church Mrs. Eddy states that “God requires wisdom, economy and brotherly love to characterize all the proceedings of the members of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist.”
As members of the Mother Church, we in the CCSNA are guardians of any donations and act in accordance with this Manual provision.
All donations made to the CCSNA are most appreciated and are directed to assistance towards training costs. A small amount supports our website charges, Christian Science Practitioner support for our activities, occasional special events for the church communities such as making available talks at no charge. All other CCSNA Coordinator work is voluntary.
